Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has launched the Intellectual Property Accelerator (IP Accelerator) in Singapore, making it easier and less expensive for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to obtain trademarks, protect their brands, and tackle infringing goods in Amazon’s stores and across the marketplace.
IP Accelerator connects Singapore SMB owners with a curated network of local law firms charging competitive, pre-negotiated rates on key services, making expert legal and general IP advice that would otherwise be a cost-prohibitive or complex process accessible to any brand selling in Amazon’s stores.

Businesses need IP rights to prevent unwanted actors from stealing and infringing on their ideas. SMBs, on the other hand, may find filing for IP protection daunting and time-consuming. IP Accelerator will make the process easier by linking small businesses with trademark attorneys who are experienced in preparing trademark applications and can assist remove typical barriers that might otherwise cause the registration to be delayed.
The advantages of IP Accelerator
IP Accelerator gives SMBs early access to Amazon’s brand protection tools, helping them to protect their brand and intellectual property even before their trademark is registered. With over 500,000 companies enrolled to date, Amazon’s Brand Registry is a free service that offers SMBs extensive tools to help them manage and protect their brand and IP rights in Amazon stores. Amazon’s automatic, data-driven safeguards, which proactively eliminate suspected infringing or fraudulent content, as well as tools that allow businesses to report a suspected infringement, are available to participants. Enrollment in Brand Registry also gives businesses more control over the product information that appears on Amazon’s product detail pages, allowing customers to make confident, well-informed purchases.
IP Accelerator originated in the United States in 2019 and has since expanded to include Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico, India, and now Singapore. Since the program began, more than 7,000 trademark applications have been filed by participating brands with trademark offices such as the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office, the Japan Patent Office, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, the Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial, and the India Trademark Office.
IP Accelerator is free to use for Amazon selling partners, and SMBs pay their legal firms directly for the work completed at reduced, pre-negotiated prices.
