Estudio Benedetti

Comosa Building, 19th Floor, Samuel Lewis Avenue, Panama City, Panama

Firm's Overview

Estudio Benedetti was recently established as a result of the split of Benedetti & Benedetti, which was recognised as the leading IP firm in Panama and consistently topped international rankings.

Estudio Benedetti was formed by Ramon Ricardo Benedetti V and Audrey Williams (who were the partners in charge of the IP department at Benedetti & Benedetti) together with Diana Carolina Leandro and Ramon Benedetti Aleman.

What we do

We advise on a variety of services, including trademarks, trade names, patents, utility models, industrial designs, plant varieties, copyright, domain names, unfair competition, licensing, distribution agreements, know-how agreements, international franchising agreements, pharmaceutical licensing and regulatory and advertising law.

Why choose us

The successful prosecution of thousands of applications and legal proceedings before local authorities through more than 30 years’ activity, particularly in intellectual property, has given our partners, attorneys and supporting staff an unparalleled knowledge of applicable law and handling of governmental offices. Paired with the specialised training and academic background of our team, this enables us to deliver excellent results efficiently.

Our attorneys are well known for their expertise in anti-counterfeiting actions, trademark and copyright litigation (eg, oppositions, cancellation and annulment actions) and trade dress infringement, and have been involved in landmark IP anti-counterfeiting and infringement actions in Panama.

Where the other law firms in Panama have small teams handling IP matters (regularly made up of two or three attorneys at the most), we have a separate team for patents, utility models and industrial designs led by one patent agent. We also have separate teams for trademark filings, trademark renewals and recordals, opposition, nullity and cancellation actions and trademark anti-counterfeiting and copyright infringement litigation.

Our clients

Estudio Benedetti is responsible for one of the most impressive IP portfolios in Panama, including trademarks, trade names, slogans, patents, utility models, designs, copyrights, Customs and Colón Free Trade Zone registrations, domain names and IP-related litigation. We work with Fortune 500 companies and owners of the world’s most valuable brands.

We represent foreign and local companies in a wide variety of industry sectors, including consumer products, food and beverages, entertainment, fashion, retail, software and computers, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, luxury goods, banking and financial services.
