The UAE has published a new Federal Law No. 38 of 2021 concerning Copyright & Neighboring Rights (New Copyright Law), which replaces the existing Federal Law No. 7 of 2002 (existing Copyright Law), with major improvements to reflect the fast-paced digital world. The New Copyright Law went into effect on January 2, 2022.
