Registration of industrial designs in Lebanon – Every company that owns an industrial design and intends to expand its business in the Lebanon market should use the Lebanon intellectual property system. It is paramount for businesses to file an industrial design application in Lebanon for industrial designs, even if the launch of the respective product on the market in Lebanon has not yet commenced.
Requirements for Industrial Design Registration Application in Lebanon
An industrial design application in Lebanon requesting the right of priority must be filed within 6 months from the priority date. The term may be extended for two months from the lapsed term if the failure to file the application was unintentional.
The following information and documents need to be provided in the application for registration of an industrial design in Lebanon:

An assignment deed is required if the applicant(s) is not the author(s) of the design. This document must be duly legalized by the Lebanese Consulate.

The novelty grace period provision is not stipulated in the Lebanese design legislation.
