The official language when registering an industrial design at the Ireland Intellectual Property Office is Irish or English. 

The following information and documents need to be provided in the application for registration of an industrial design in Ireland: 

A certified copy of the Priority Document must be supplied at the time of filing or within three months of the filing date.
The Power of Attorney does not need to be legalized or notarized.

In Ireland, the deadline for filing a design application claiming conventional priority is six months from the priority date. The term cannot be extended.

Validity period and renewal of industrial designs in Ireland

If any disclosure is provided by the designer, the novelty grace period for an Irish industrial design application is 12 months from the date of disclosure.
A design patent is granted for 5 years from the date of registration. There is no grant fee specified. If a request is made and the accompanying charge is paid, the 5-year term can be extended for four more periods of five years each. A six-month grace period from the due date is also possible.
A design application takes an average of four months to register, depending on how smoothly the design protection procedure goes.
